New 1098 S Tricolore Makes N.A. Debut at Long Beach, CA IMS.

From Ducati:

Cupertino, CA (December 7, 2006) – The highly anticipated North American introduction of Ducati’s new 1098 S Tricolore motorcycle will take place this weekend at the Long Beach Cycle World International Motorcycle Show. The Tricolore will be on display throughout the weekend at the Ducati stand and shown at the remainder of the 2007 IMS Motorcycle Shows.

The 1098 S Tricolore is the limited production version of the acclaimed “S” model 1098 Superbike. In addition to retaining all the performance assets of the S model, the Tricolore also comes with an evocative red, white and green racing livery, dedicated ECU, and a Termignoni carbon fiber wrapped exhaust system.

“This motorcycle is the ultimate expression of our Superbike family” said Michael Lock, CEO of Ducati North America. “I am pleased to be showing it for the first time in the Southern California market, which has one of the largest concentration of Ducati owners and sport bike enthusiasts.”

The Ducati 1098 S produces 160hp and 90lbs/ft of torque, making it the most powerful twin-cylinder motorcycle in the world, and has the highest torque-to-weight ratio of any sport bike. The 1098 S is also the lightest open class Superbike available, weighing in at 377 pounds.

North American pricing for the 1098 S Tricolore will be $24,995 in the United States and $29,995 in Canada. Delivery of the 1098 S Tricolore to authorized Ducati dealers will commence in February 2007.
