First Moto2 prototype unveiled

Honda BQR bike will race in 2009 CEV series

The BQR race team has introduced the very first Moto2 prototype race bike.

The Honda BQR bike will enter the new 600cc four-stroke Moto2 class which will replace the 250cc Grand Prix World Championship in 2011.

Team owner Raul Romero, Carmelo Ezpeleta of race promoter Dorna Sports, FIM vice president Joan Moreta, Blusens president José Ramón García and rider Daniel Rivas revealed the new bike at the Hotel Puerta America in Madrid, Spain.

Rivas will ride the new Honda BQR bike in the Spanish road racing championship, the Campeonato de España de Velocidad (CEV) this season.

Development of the Honda BQR Moto2 bike began in 2006. The BQR Race team will compete in the 2009 125cc Grand Prix as team Blusens Aprilia with riders Esteve Rabat and Scott Redding.
